The Saltbox Fund is catalysed by early support from the Halifax Climate Investment, Innovation and Impact (HCi3) Fund, which invests in advancing a net-zero Halifax/Kjipuktuk as part of Canada’s broader commitment to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The Saltbox Fund is partnering with Woveo to test how community-centred micro-lending can support rural homeowners in accessing affordable capital for energy-efficient home upgrades. Through this pilot, we are exploring how trust-based, peer-enabled finance can complement blended capital strategies and expand access to retrofit funding in underserved communities.
